We're almost there!

Bigman's room

The three garage doors that are going to be used as the entry into the wholesaler (the big door on the left is for cars).

Hi everyone,

It has been a long time since I last updated the blog. In that time Big Man has finished all the walls on the inside and outside, put both door frames in, plastered some of the exterior and most of the interior walls, and two days ago Biggy put the roof on. It made me so exited. It is finally becoming a building! All that is left to do is plaster the floor, put the 3 garage doors in the front, add the window, and add the two doors. It should be done in about 3 weeks.

At first the building will be used as a wholesaler until we have enough money to convert our Spaza shop into the wholesaler. But Big Man will still be staying in the building. He has his own room which will be solar powdered. It is a big change for him because he currently lives in a shack attached our Spaza shop. I am still going to have the plaque that I promised with everybody's name who donated on it.

God Bless,
Josh

Building update:

Hey everyone,

Yesterday I was there for myself to see the building and the wall. Bigman is a great builder and he is working very hard. On Saturday I am going to Mamelodi to help build the home. I would like to thank everyone for your prayer and financial support.

We have begun!

Today my Dad took some pictures for me of the house and I am very exited! It will be about 10 feet heigh on all sides. Bigman is a great builder and he is having allot of fun. The house will turn into a wholesaler until we have enough money to turn the Spaza into a wholesaler. Then it will be a permanent house. Here are some pictures my dad took!

Margret at the spaza
My dad

Hi everyone,

Words cannot describe how sorry I am for not updating my blog for so long. We have finished the spaza and it has been up and running for about a month. Business is doing very well and the people are very happy. Some spaza owners close by even got mad that our prices were so low, but my dad said we are there to help the community. And with this spaza we have created two jobs. We have Margret (big mans cousin) and Bigman working at the spaza. Bigman has gone from making $1 a day to over $150 month.

Today my dad told me that with some of the money from the spaza they are buying ten bags of cement so that we can start building the actual home. We will begin building with the 10,000 bricks this week and I am very exited. I will continue to update the blog this week and also add some pictures. I would like the thank everyone for you support and future support for this home. Please donate and change lives forever!

God Bless,
Josh

Update

Hi everyone,

Sorry it has been such a long time since I last updated the blog. Not much has happened with the house since I last updated, because we have been very busy with the "spaza" next to the home. The spaza should be up and running in about a week, then we will continue with the home. Please tell your friends, family, and everyone you know to donate!

God Bless,
Josh

Fire and shacks don't mix

Hi everyone,

A few days ago my dad and I were leaving Mamelodi and a fire started in a place called Pumolong, in Mamelodi. In Pumolong there are thousands upon thousands of shacks all packed tightly together. The fire broke out around the exterior of Pumolong and thank God no serious damage happened accept a few shacks that burnt down. It was so sad seeing the people rush to there shacks grabbing the little belongings they have and run, and the little children confused among the chaos. It made me realize why I am building the home, and makes me exited about the future homes coming.

We have been building the spaza and it will hopefully be open on Wednesday, and with the profits we make will go toward supporting the home along with our family. Please donate and help this dream come true.

God Bless,
Josh
